GEORGE THANIEL

The book describes the life and work of Nikos Gabriel Pentzikis. He was a writer from Thessaloniki, in northern Greece who, although was influenced by contemporary writers such as Joyce and Eliot, was more influenced by the Greek Orthodox Church. His fame never rivalled Elytis, Seferis and Kazantzakis, but Thaniel does an excellent job covering his life and influences.
